With the establishment of the operations of the Philippine Embassy in Rabat, Morocco the Philippines-Morocco relations is expected to be further strengthened and enhanced  with better opportunities for people to people exchange and fostering of direct linkages between stakeholders, underpinned by achievable goals identified in the Department of Foreign Affairs' Strategic Plan for 2017-2020 and Ambisyon Natin 2040 for the Philippines.

The current global situation of facing challenges brought by COVID-19 has both emphasized and created an occasion for international cooperation to be integral in building stronger and resilient economies. The Philippine Embassy in Rabat aims to mobilize and optimize its available resources (human resource, material and logistical resources and utilize its strategic environment in Morocco and its oversight over four (4) other jurisdictions, namely Mali, Senegal, Guinea and Mauritania to foster political and security cooperation, economic and development partnerships, and increase its involvement and presence in African countries.

There are almost 5,000 Filipinos in Morocco and its four jurisdictions, with Morocco hosting majority of the Filipino community in these areas. Majority of the Filipino workers in Morocco are reportedly employed as household workers, beauticians/hairdressers, and food preparation helpers. The Philippine Embassy in Rabat aims to promote the welfare and wellbeing of the Filipino community, engage their cooperation in the overall goal of increasing and upgrading the presence and profile of the Philippines and the Filipino People in its five (5) jurisdictions. This includes broader appreciation of the Philippines' rich history and cultural heritage, and the country's competitive advantages, among others.
