NOTARIAL SERVICES

The Philippine Embassy in Morocco provides notarial services similar to the notarial acts done by a notary public in the Philippines. In this case, the process to be undertaken is an ACKNOWLEDGMENT, or the act by which a person signs a legal instrument in the presence of a competent consular officer and declares it to be his true and voluntary act and deed.

The notarial services provided by the Embassy do not include the preparation of legal documents or the drafting of powers of attorney, deeds and documents of similar nature. It is the responsibility of the party availing of notarization services to prepare their own document.

TYPES OF DOCUMENTS FOR NOTARIZATION

REQUIREMENTS

  1. Personal appearance of the signatory is required. The person availing of notarial services should appear before a consular officer to sign the document for notarization.
  2. The signatory must present the document to be acknowledged (i.e., Affidavit of Consent and Support, Letter of Invitation / Affidavit of Support and Guarantee, Special Power of Attorney, Contract of Sale, Deed of Sale) and sign it in the presence of the Embassy’s consular officer.
