SECOND-GENERATION FILIPINOS CELEBRATED THE 14TH EDITION OF THE INTERNATIONAL CHILDREN OF PEACE FESTIVAL

25 July 2022 – Through the initiative of Filipino community leaders in Morocco and support of the Philippine Embassy, second-generation Filipino children in Rabat participated in the parade of delegates to the 14 th Edition of the International Children of Peace Festival.

This year’s event started off with a parade by delegates from different countries. Participants, donned in their national costume, waved lively at the crowd as they paraded along Mohammed V Avenue all the way to the Moroccan Parliament where the delivered their message of peace. The parade was an excellent opportunity to showcase the cultural diversity of the participants.

The opening ceremony of the festival was held in the evening of 26 July 2022 at the Mohammed V Theater where the Minister of Solidarity, Social Integration and Family and the Minister of Youth, Culture, and Communication delivered their remarks, followed by a gala performance of foreign delegates who showcased their traditional music and dance.

The festival is organized annually to give children from different countries an opportunity to interact and get to know other cultures which will hopefully contribute to educating them about the value and importance of pluralism, diversity, and acceptance. END
