RABAT PE HOSTED AN AFTERNOON TALK WITH A MOROCCAN LAWYER IN OBSERVANCE OF EVAW-C

Rabat, 6 December 2022 – The Philippine Embassy in Rabat (Rabat PE) conducted last Sunday, 4 December 2022 an “AFTERNOON TALK” with Moroccan lawyer (jurist), Atty. Meriem Bentoudja, part of Post’s activities in its observance of this year’s 18-day campaign to end violence against women and children. The event saw the participation of about thirty (30), mostly women members and migrant workers of the Filipino Community in Morocco. A lively exchange of questions and answers followed Atty. Bentoudja’s powerpoint presentation that focused, among others, on the role of women in Morocco’s society, rights of foreign women in Morocco as workers/employees, local laws, rules and policies including the police and judicial system that address violence against women and children. The community singing of the all women “Lupang Hinirang” video by the Philippine Commission of Women opened the afternoon event, calling everyone’s attention to the finest and best of Filipino women’s successes in various fields of endeavors.
