EMBASSY HOSTS WEBINAR ON "USAPANG DISIPLINA, PAGMAMAGULANG SA MAGKABILANG MUNDO"

Casablanca, 18 September 2023. The Embassy yesterday organized a webinar on positively training children, an approach to parenting, entitled, “Usapang Disiplina, Pagmamagulang sa Magkabilang Mundo’’ that was held at the Philippine Honorary Consulate in Casablanca. Ms. Emma Rose “Mae” Quesada-Pineda, a pedagogy consultant in developing curriculums on positive discipline, gender sensitivity, gender sexuality, mental health, among others, led the discussion and interaction with some thirty-four (34) members of the Filipino Community (FilCom) mainly working and living in Casablanca.

The fun and lively and sometimes “emotional” event saw the participants expressing in “emojis” (feeling about) their presence, interacting with the expert and between and among themselves, sharing and conveying the challenges, difficulties and his/her “own” ways of “parenting their own children from overseas” and “of parenting children of others”, while to a few (those married to Moroccans) mixing parenting they knew back home with and adapting to parenting in their adoptive country. In her summary, Ms. Quesada-Pineda underlined that “positive discipline ay may respeto, may dignidad, may malinaw na layunin, may pagmamahal, may gabay, walang pananakit, walang pagpapahiya, walang pananakot”.
