NATIONAL HERITAGE MONTH: DISTRIBUTION OF CHILDREN’S STORY BOOKS ON PHILIPPINE CULTURE AND HERITAGE

H.E. Leslie J. Baja and Consul General Maria Agnes M. Cervantes distribute story books to Filipino children in Morocco.

In celebration of the National Heritage Month, the Philippine Embassy in Rabat organized a Philippine culture and heritage familiarization event for the children of Filipino community members on 30 May 2021.

During the event, the kids caught a glimpse of one of the most famous Philippine folktales through a short video presentation of the “The Legend of Mayon Volcano.” The story was presented in both English and Filipino languages.

The Embassy also distributed children’s books titled “A Lolong Time Ago: A Prehistory of the Philippines”, “Barefoot Bulayan”, and “Si Diwayen Noong Bago Dumating ang mga Espanyol.” These books highlight stories on Philippine history, tradition, and culture which will hopefully help kids to learn more and appreciate their heritage and identity as Filipinos.
