PHILIPPINE PRODUCTS FEATURED IN THE ANNUAL INTERNATIONAL BAZAAR
The Philippine Embassy in Rabat participated in the international bazaar held on 25 November 2023 at the National Library of the Kingdom of Morocco in Rabat. The diplomatic missions in Morocco were well represented in the bazaar noting the participation of several Asian, African, Middle Eastern, American, and European Embassies and international organizations.
The opening of the international bazaar was graced by Her Royal Highness Princess Lalla Meryem. After the ribbon cutting ceremony, HRH Princess Lalla Meryem visited the booths set up by diplomatic missions in Rabat which featured various handicrafts and local products.
The Philippine booth featured yakan textiles, accessories crafted by the Agusan-Manob indigenous group, pearl accessories, rattan, abaca, and mother of pearl home accessories, abaniko, coffee table books on Philippine travel destinations, and tourism promotion brochures. The Embassy also played Department of Tourism’s Wake up in the Philippines videos on loop which visitors enjoyed.
In its continuing economic diplomacy agenda to promote the finest of Philippine products, the Embassy also showcased banana chips, dried mangoes, organic mushroom chips, nagaraya nuts, polvoron, tarts, Chocnut, artisan chocolates from Theo and Philo, Malagos, and Auro, as well as cooked Filipino delicacies such as crispy adobo flakes with garlic fried rice and egg and puto flan – all of which were well received and patronized by bazaar guests.
The international bazaar is an annual event organized by the Cercle Diplomatique, an organization composed of the spouses of the Heads of Diplomatic Missions and representatives of international organizations accredited in Morocco, which features local products from participating countries and organizations. The proceeds from the bazaar will be used to support Moroccan NGOs working in the promotion of the welfare of women and children and other vulnerable groups in the Kingdom. END
