ASEAN COMMITTEE IN RABAT HOSTS AN IFTAR FOR KEY PARTNERS

IFTAR 24 1Ambassadors and Heads of Missions of the ASEAN Committee in Rabat with dialogue, sectoral, and development partners, and other partners from the government and private sectors

26 March 2024 – The ASEAN Committee in Rabat (ACR), currently chaired by Philippine Ambassador to Morocco Leslie J. Baja, hosted an Iftar at the residence of the Indonesian Ambassador.

Ambassador Baja highlighted how Ramadan serves as an “opportunity not only for Muslims but for members of all faiths and communities to rededicate themselves to the basic values of humanity - selflessness, peace and tolerance.” He also enjoined the participants to remember the people in Gaza, “who despite the terrible conflict they find themselves in, are staying true to their faith.”

Ambassador Baja’s remarks were followed by a rabbana performance by Indonesian students. The guests later on enjoyed traditional delicacies from Brunei, Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Thailand, and Vietnam.

The Iftar was attended by Ambassadors from ASEAN dialogue, sectoral, and development partners, officials from the Moroccan Foreign Ministry, and other partners from the government and private sectors. END
