Rabat, 14 January 2025 - In a meaningful celebration of the Amazigh New Year, the Filipino community in Morocco, together with the Philippine Embassy, visited the Children’s Hospital of Rabat to hand over donations of essential medicines. This initiative was made possible through the funds raised from the Little Mr. and Ms. Stars of Christmas fundraising activity during the Paskong Pinoy 2024 celebration.
The Amazigh New Year, which marks the start of the Moroccan agricultural calendar, is a time of renewal, unity and giving. The Filipino community joined in the spirit of this significant event by sharing their generosity with their host country.
In addition to the donation to the children’s hospital, the Filipino community also extended support to Ms. Michelle Cuala Suante, a Filipino cancer patient currently confined at the Military Hospital in Rabat. The donation was also derived from the proceeds of Paskong Pinoy 2024, symbolizing the community’s commitment to uplifting and assisting fellow Filipinos in need.
This year is particularly significant as the Philippines and Morocco celebrate the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations. This major milestone underscores the long-standing friendship and continued cooperation between the two countries and the Filipino and Moroccan communities. END
