ASEAN COMMITTEE IN RABAT VISITED
THE INDOMIE FACTORY IN TIFELT, KHEMISSETASEAN Heads of Mission with the Representatives of Indomie Morocco

23 November 2021 – As part of its initiative to improve the presence of ASEAN in Morocco, the ASEAN Committee in Rabat (ACR) visited the Indomie Factory in Tifelt, Khemisset.

The factory is located approximately 65km east of Rabat. It was established in 2014 and began its commercial production in 2016. Aside from providing Moroccan consumers with variety of noodle products, Indomie also exports to Qatar, Tunis, and Mauritania. While most companies experienced a significant decrease in production and sales, Indomie remained competitive and even saw an increase in sales when the COVID-19 pandemic struck as more consumers chose to purchase food with longer shelf-life inorder to limit their shopping trips and possible exposure to the virus.

During the visit, the Ambassadors and other ASEAN diplomats were briefed on Indomie’s operations including the marketing, sales, and production strategies it developed to make the products more appealing to the consumers in Morocco. The ACR diplomats were also given a tour of the factory for familiarization and better appreciation of the technology used by Indomie, which hopefully can be replicated by other ASEAN companies. END
